Performing Arts Summer Camp Asheville NCAsheville, NC, is often described as “The Paris of the South,” and for good reason. The city is set against a beautiful backdrop of the vast Blue Ridge Mountains, with peaks such as Mount Pisgah visible from town. Art and music exude from the city as buskers perform on the streets of Asheville, and of course, there is always a drum circle or performance happening in Pack Square Park.

The unique atmosphere that Asheville holds makes for a great place to be creative and take in inspiration from both the natural setting as well as the art of the city. To capture and direct that creativity, we at Asheville Performing Arts Academy put on a Performing Arts Summer Camp as part of our year-round programming.

Summer Camp for Performing Arts

Want to give the young artist in your life an opportunity to bring their skills to the stage? Our summer camp programs are designed for performers of all levels. Each program lasts one week and ends with a production.

Musical Theatre Workshop

Our musical theatre workshop camps center around several favorites. Students will learn musical numbers and perform a production at the end of each week. Not only will campers perform in a handful of scenes, but they will also learn many of the behind-the-scenes skills to make a production happen. Students will experience set design, prop making, as well as costume.

This camp is offered for children that are rising from first graders to tenth grade. The cost is $350, with discounts for multiple siblings and multiple camps.

Musical Theatre Intensive

If you are looking for a more focused camp for your child, the musical theatre intensive camp will help your artist work on developing their skills. This workshop is led by renowned professionals who will coach students to hone their skills while also mentoring them on the reality of what it is like to be a professional actor.

Other Programs

The APAA also hosts a Junior Theatre festival intensive for fifth through twelfth graders, as well as the Mean Girls JR workshop. Both of these programs are for middle and high schoolers and cost $400 for the week.
