As homeschooling parents, you have much more freedom in deciding what kind of extracurricular activities your child is interested in. In public schools, children are limited to the typical activities found at every school. However, you get to go beyond and find something unique and exciting.

We have started to kick off our opportunities for the upcoming production runs starting in the fall of 2022. There are a variety of ways to be involved with Asheville Performing Arts Academy! For those with children who are homeschooled, we have a unique opportunity. 

Our Homeschool Academy Offerings occur during the day, with rehearsals occurring every Monday from 1 pm to 3 pm. These classes serve as a fantastic opportunity to broaden your child's artistic experiences as well as serve as a way to continue to build your homeschool community.

The 2022-2023 Production

This season we are producing PUFFS (A One-Act for Young Wizards). The New York Times proclaims Puffs “A fast-paced romp through the ‘Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic.’” It gives a new and fun look at the familiar adventure that people of all ages are sure to enjoy.

Season details:

  • Tuition: $325 covers all rehearsals and performance materials
  • Ages: 7 - 18
  • Rehearsal: Starts Monday, September 12th, and takes place every Monday 1-3 pm. Students are expected to be present for all rehearsals, except when there are extenuating circumstances.
  • Clothing: Families are required to provide a base costume consisting of a solid black tank-top, solid black t-shirt, solid black long-sleeved shirt, and solid bottoms (pants, leggings, shorts, or skirt). Families are also required to provide any dance shoes that are needed for the role.
  • Performance Dates: February 10-12, 2023
